BIG IDEA
The Jesus who lives, lives in you.
MESSAGE NOTES:
WHAT:
In tough times, we need comfort, but we often need someone who can help us move forward too.
Sometimes we need more than just God's comfort — we need God's help.
SO WHAT:
Good Friday isn't the end of the story.
His pain led to His resurrection — the moment in history that changed everything. It was worth it.
1 Corinthian 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.
He suffered and died to give us a way out of that suffering, both now and forever.
Jesus' resurrection overcome death and sin forever, giving us the chance to experience resurrection too.
The Jesus who lives, lives in you. We desperately need the life He offers us.
NOW WHAT:
Jesus wants to give you the power to conquer sin and death too.
As you think about the sin you've committed and the pain it has caused: 1) Don’t make excuses. 2) Don’t shift blame. 3) Don’t hide.
We've all done things that have caused pain, destruction, and death, but the good news of the Gospel is that Jesus came to defeat our sin and give us new life.
Jesus decided that you were worth it.
The Jesus who suffered suffers with you, and the Jesus who lives, lives in you.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
Q1: Why is it important to have someone in your life who doesn’t just comfort you but also pushes you forward?
Q2: How does Jesus’ death and resurrection comfort us and push us forward?
Q3: Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Do you think it is possible to overcome your sins? How would you go about doing that?
Q4: If it feels like sin has power over your life right now, share what you're struggling with, if you feel comfortable.
