DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
In the "Ninja Bread Man" story, the cookie was wise until it made a foolish mistake with the fox. Can you think of a time when you felt like you were making smart choices but then did something foolish? What did you learn about yourself from that moment?
Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 7:9 that controlling your temper is wise because anger makes you look foolish. Why do you think it’s so hard to stay calm in frustrating situations, and what’s one practical way you could lean on God to help you avoid that ‘foolish’ label?
Ecclesiastes 8:17 reminds us that even the wisest people can’t know everything God is doing. How does it feel to accept that some things in life—like why bad things happen or what the future holds—are beyond your understanding? How could trusting God in those moments change the way you make decisions?
Solomon compares wisdom to a lifestyle, not a destination, like Juan’s fitness journey where there’s always someone stronger. What’s one area of your life (school, friendships, faith) where you’re trying to grow wiser, and what’s one step you could take to make wisdom a daily habit?
Proverbs 9:10 says the ‘fear of the Lord’ is the start of wisdom. What do you think it means to ‘fear’ God in a way that makes you wiser, and how could that change the way you handle a big decision, like choosing friends or a college?
