Mine 4: Serving

Making your faith your own.

Big Idea

There’s a direct connection between growing and serving.

Message notes:

I N T R O D U C T I O N

There’s a direct connection between growing and serving.

T E N S I O N

Struggling to make that commitment?

You may be missing out on something God has in mind for you by choosing to be uninvolved.

TRUTH

What Jesus says to His disciples is the same thing He says to us—bring Me what you have.

1. We can do the same things.

2. It’s not as daunting as it feels.

3. It’s a huge faith-builder.

There’s a place your faith will only go once you decide to step out of your comfort zone.

Where is God nudging you?

L A N D I N G

As you head out today, I dare you to follow Peter’s lead and ask God to invite you out there.

Q2: What are some things that you need to get done but make excuses about?

Q3: Everybody thinks serving is a good idea. But why is it so difficult to actually go out and serve?

Q4: Why do you think serving and growing your faith are connected?

Q5: Serving doesn’t always have to be formal or even done through an organization. What are some ways you can serve in your everyday life?

Q6: What’s one area of need (kids, homeless, special needs, etc.) that you feel strongly about?

(If someone is already serving, ask them to share how it has impacted them)

Q7: What is one way that you can take a step in serving in that area? Is there anything that is holding you back from taking that step this week?
