Illuminate

Big Idea

Your light can illuminate someone else’s life.

Message notes:

Tension:

Matthew 5:14- 16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”

You may think, “I don’t even see myself as a light, what does it even mean to BE a light?

Truth:

Invest in others lives and brighten up people’s days with a positive attitude.

You are making an impact on people’s lives for eternity.

Through Christ I have been liberated, set free,  and given new life, new hope, new motivation, and new peace of heart and mind, so i have the spirit to deeply love others as a light to all.

John 8:12 “I am the light of the world,” he said. “Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness. “

Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.

Application:

Prayer: Who can I pray for today? Who can be loved? Who can I invest my time to? How can I help?

Affliction: Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”

Hope: Romans 5:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit .
