All the Rage
Series Big Idea:
Anger is a weird emotion. It can make us do or say things we normally never would do or say. And if unchecked, it can cause damage in relationships that lasts long after our anger has subsided. Join us for this two-part mini-series as we explore what causes anger, and how to not “Hulk out” when we get mad.
1. What anger does to your body
A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
2. What Anger does to THE Body (your relationships)
Scoffers set a city aflame, but the wise turn away wrath.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
Q1: What ways has anger affected you negatively?
Q2: Can you share a time when anger has gotten the upper hand in your life?
Q3: Share a time when you were really angry at someone? How did it make you feel?
Q4: What are some ways you think you can overcome your Anger?
Q5: How could you respond better toward someone who unleashed their anger toward you?
