Walk with Me - Week 1

BIG IDEA

Jesus used His final moments with the disciples at the Last Supper to demonstrate that true faith is lived out through humble service, sacrificial love, and active obedience, leaving us a roadmap for a life rooted in love even amidst betrayal and uncertainty.

KEY VERSES

John 13

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. Jesus chose to wash the disciples’ feet, an act that shocked them because it was a job for servants, not leaders. How do you think you would react if someone in a position of authority—like a teacher, coach, or parent—did something unexpected and humble to serve you? What does this tell us about how Jesus wants us to view leadership and service in our own lives?

    2. The sermon mentions that Jesus knew this was His last meal with His disciples, but they didn’t. Think about a time in your life when you didn’t realize a moment was a “last” until later—like the last time you saw a friend or did something you loved. How might knowing it’s the “last time” change the way you approach your relationships or daily choices?

    3. Peter resisted Jesus washing his feet, but Jesus said, ‘Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.’ What do you think Jesus meant by this beyond just clean feet? How does this challenge or change the way you think about accepting help or forgiveness in your own life?

    4. Jesus gave the new commandment to ‘love each other’ right after Judas left to betray Him. Why do you think Jesus focused on love at that moment instead of anger or revenge? How can we apply this idea of loving others even when we feel hurt or betrayed by them?

    5. The sermon says that ‘true faith is active’—it’s not just knowing what’s right but doing it. Where do you see a gap between what you know you should do and what you actually do in your life? What’s one practical step you could take to close that gap, inspired by Jesus’ example at the Last Supper?
